Meet Rene Gianola
Being a native of Switzerland, I traveled with my wife
Belinda for one and a half years around the world
before we settled down in Lake City in 2001. I started
working at the Texaco that year, hired just for the
summer. We both liked it so much, we decided to stay.
I am a Swiss government certified car technician, which
is comparable to a Master’s degree. Looking back on a
25-year career, including a 4-year apprenticeship, I am
experienced in all mechanical and electrical aspects,
worked for dealerships such as Opel (GM Europe), Saab,
Seat, Daihatsu, Nissan, Ford, Volvo cars and heavy-duty
trucks, Suzuki, and Chrysler/Jeep. At Stihl, I handled
everything from chainsaws to agricultural equipment. I
am certified in all of these makes, and during my time in
the Swiss Army I was also certified in heavy trucks and
equipment.
